HNBR Rubber
Take everything that makes NBR great then toughen it up.
Add heat resistance, chemical strength and pressure resilience.
That’s HNBR.
Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber starts with the same base chemistry as NBR: butadiene and acrylonitrile. But through hydrogenation, its molecular backbone is saturated, removing weak double bonds and transforming an everyday oil-resistant rubber into something far stronger.
The result is an elastomer built for extremes. HNBR withstands continuous heat up to about 150 °C and tolerates brief temperature peaks even higher. It resists oils, fuels, steam, amines, refrigerants and many aggressive industrial fluids. Where standard NBR cracks under ozone or sunlight exposure, HNBR endures.
Its toughness isn’t just chemical. HNBR is physically strong: high tensile strength, excellent abrasion resistance and low compression set even under prolonged heat. It flexes under motion, seals under pressure and keeps its shape through thousands of demanding cycles.
That’s why it’s trusted in high-stakes environments.
